Poetry Disco is one of the most fun ways of combining the practical with the pleasant. Naturally, people who find both poetry and music pleasant have no need for such combining. In any case, the Poetry Disco has become a certain, although not entirely fixed cornerstone of the HeadRead festival. For the second time, the DJ is the Tartu writer and music aficionado Berk Vaher (1975), whose sets will be interspersed with old and new Estonian poetry by the increasingly sophisticated gay poet Ivar Sild (1977), the feisty and defiant recorder of Estonian life Kelly Turk, the continuously excellent wit fs (1971), the socially-aware world citizen Kätlin Kaldmaa (1970), and the most experienced performer of them all, Katrin Väli (1956), who made her debut in 1978. The evening will culminate in an open mic round.
