A pleasant tradition of the HeadRead festival involves a Wednesday performance by the students of the theatre school of the Old Town Educational College (Vanalinna Hariduskolleegium, VHK) to present a collage of a selection of literary works. The programme includes texts from Estonia and further afield, poetry and prose, great classics as well as the hottest names of today. The programme is complemented by musical numbers and dance. This year, the show includes authors ranging from A. H. Tammsaare to Jüri Kolk and Betti Alver to Ott Arder, interspersed with foreign authors like Milan Kundera, Alan A. Milne or Tristan Tzara. Our very own favourites, such as Juhan Liiv, Juhan Viiding, Doris Kareva and Kristiina Ehin, are also a staple. The programme is presented by Johan Kristjan Aimla, Egert Kadastu, Jaan Aleksander Konze, Franz Malmsten, Triinu Malv, Reti-Ann Niimann, Mirjam Orav, Elss Marta Raidmets, Adeele Rei, Maryn-Liis Rüütelmaa, Eik Erik Sikk, Mattias Tirmast, Elle Maria Viies and Edgar Vunš. The young are supervised, as always, by Tõnis Rätsep.
