The HeadRead festival has made a habit out of offering unusual lineups and this time is no different. The Kellerteater stage will be at the disposal of two musicians and a writer to create something extraordinary. Duo Ruut is a traditional music duo founded in 2015. Katariina Kivi (2000) and Ann-Lisett Rebane (2000) mix folk music with other genres, and their live gigs stand out with the set-up where they play a kannel or zither placed between them. Duo Ruut has performed at all the main Estonian music festivals, and in 2018, they won the Young Folk Music Competition. Their debut album Tuule sõnad won the Debut of the Year at the Etnoklubi (Ethno Club) award gala. Indrek Koff (1975) is a renowned and multi-talented writer that never ceases to surprise. The range of the genres he excels in can be seen from the children’s book Kuhu lapsed said?” published last year. In this humorous poem, Koff uses rhythm and rhyme for the first time in his work – successfully, as the work was nominated for the Children’s Literature Award of the Estonian Cultural Endowment.
