Riikka Jäntti

Riikka Jäntti (1972) is a Finnish children’s author and illustrator. For children just starting their reading journey, Jäntti is known as the author of the Little Mouse series. Little Mouse lives with her mother in the city, encounters the same phenomena and situations as the children in the city, and tends to solve these situations in a way that offers the children joy of recognition. Jäntti published her first book about Little Mouse in 2015. The book talks about how Little Mouse discovers the abundance of opportunities nesting under the surface of a word as simple as “no!” – especially if the day of a baby mouse is crammed with activities. This year alone, five of Jäntti’s Little Mouse stories have been published in Estonian – Little Mouse and the Birthday Present, Little Mouse’s Winter, Little Mouse Welcomes Spring, Little Mouse’s Summer, and Little Mouse Helps Out, a story about Little Mouse’s friend Lyly, with whom she plays, quarrels and, fortunately, reconciles.
