Opening of the exhibition The Art of Reading. The Quality of Living at the atrium of Viru Centre
Reading is a privilege. Reading is an art. Reading makes life better.
The exhibition The Art of Reading. The Quality of Living attempts to tell the story of reading, albeit knowing from the start that no story can be told from the very beginning to the very end. However, they still need to be told.
The exhibition is divided into four themes: an insight into the general history of reading, the story of reading of Estonians, writers as readers and the connections of reading with our minds and emotions. Like with every story, the story of reading aims to inspire and guide. To the next stories and an even more abundant life.
The exhibition is curated by the Association of the Museums of Estonian Writers and is also an early kick-off for the literary festival HeadRead. The speakers at the opening of the exhibition are curators Berit Kaschan and Maarja Vaino, the director of the Viru Centre Taivi Koitla and one of the organisers of the HeadRead festival, Jan Kaus.
