Programme of the students of the VHK School

The literary festival HeadRead has a number of events that have become a tradition, a kind of a festival within a festival, the heart of the festival that has become more than a natural part of the literary feast. Every year, the programme at the Estonian Writers’ Union is launched by the programme of the seniors of the theatre class of the Old Town Educational College (Vanalinna Hariduskolleegium or VHK), supervised and drawn together by the renowned actor and teacher Tõnis Rätsep. This time is no different and you can listen to a varied programme of poetry and prose, where the most evocative examples of fiction from different times and cultures launch a dialogue. Like always, this programme features both original as well as translated fiction, classics as well as contemporaries, from Juhan Liiv to Doris Kareva, from A. H. Tammsaare to Valdur Mikita and from Jane Austen to Zbigniew Herbert. You can get carried away by the programme at the Estonian Writers’ Union on Wednesday, 27 May at 6 pm.
