It has become a nice tradition that the graduating class of the Theatre School of the Vanalinna Hariduskolleegium (VHK) school takes to the stage at the Estonian Writers’ Union on the first day of the festival, supervised by the legendary actor and theatre producer Tõnis Rätsep. Like always, the two-part programme will feature interpretations of both classic and modern literary texts – young performers will give voice to A. H. Tammsaare, Kärt Hellerma, August Gailit, Kristiina Ehin, Betti Alver and Doris Kareva. Naturally, the poems and songs of Juhan Viiding are essential, and Estonian literature will be complemented by international authors ranging from Charles Baudelaire to Anton Tchekhov. This time, the following interpreters will perform: Paul Abiline, Chiara Delfino, Rasmus Ermel, Mae Kangur, Roosimari Kruus, Robin Kuks, Aurora Kärk, Oliver Laimets, Brigitta Mikko, Reti Noorhani, Mihkel Peetson, Oskar Rahu, Eerik Song, Kalli Toater and Paul Samuel Vihmar.
