International guests of HeadRead 2024 announced

This year, the international literary festival HeadRead, taking place from 29 May to 2 June in Tallinn, will host nearly 30 international guests, including writers, illustrators and curators of other literary festivals. 

Tallinn can look forward to historian and chief curator at Historic Royal Palaces Lucy Worsley, best known to Estonian audiences as a television presenter. Other guests include one of the most translated Swedish authors Thomas Erikson, Sami writer Tina Harnesk, Norwegian writer, film critic and screenwriter Erlend Loe and Chris Carter, who has worked as a criminal psychologist and played guitar in glam rock bands. The festival is also happy to host Nathalie Papin, a notable representative of young French dramaturgy; Dörte Hansen, who has explored German village life through a critical lens; Krisztina Tóth, one of the most important representatives of Hungarian poetry today; and children’s author Marc Boutavant known for this Dumpster Dog stories.

You can also meet the following writers and illustrators: Pirkko Saisio, Elina Backman, Sigrún Pálsdóttir, Anneli Jordahl, Tove Alsterdal, Valerio Magrelli, Jason Goodwin, Stefan Boonen, Wout Schildermans, Sergei Solovjov, Katri Kirkkopelto, Valts Ernštreits, Philip Meersman, Boris Khersonsky, Lyudmila Khersonskaya, Robin Robertson and Iida Turpeinen.
